PUD-74 Environmental Checklist
luminosity so as not to add to "night sky pollution." Therefore, this would be aless-
than-significant-impact.
AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES
Environmental Setting
The project site was once a portion of a 92-acre farm which ceased operation approximately 10
years ago. Approximately 69 acres of the 92-acre farm site has since been developed with 175
single-family homes, 16 duets, a 172-unit senior apartment project, and achurch/day care
facility. Two existing farmhouses along Mohr Avenue were also retained. The subject 23-acre
parcel was rezoned in 2002 for a public school or residential housing. The project site is
designated as "Grazing Land" by the California Department of Conservations. "Grazing Land"
is land on which the existing vegetation is suited to the grazing of livestock.
Standards of Significance
For purposes of this environmental document, an impact is considered significant if the proposed
project would:
• Convert Prime Farmland, Unique Farmland, or Farmland of Statewide hnportance to
non-agricultural uses;
• Conflict with or result in the cancellation of a Williamson Act contract;
• Adversely affect agricultural production.
Less Than
Potentially Significant Less Than
Significant With Mitigation Significant No
Issues Impact Incorporated Impact Impact
Agricultural Resources
In determining whether impacts to agricultural resources are significant environmental effects,
lead agencies may refer to the California Agricultural Land Evaluation and Site Assessment
Model (1997) prepared by the California Dept. of Conservation as an optional model to use in
assessing impacts on agriculture and farmland.
