This extension, . you know, has been part of the General Plan for many, many years, and has been delayed far too long resulting in increased traffic congestion and safety risks to city residents and employees who work here. The extension needs to be built in the very near future and not delayed any further for the following reasons; 1 It is fiscally irresponsible to delay buildout when we have people and entities that are willing to pay for its con trucfton specifically, the County of Alameda said they will pay for the extension if done as part of the Staples Ranch development. toneridge Drive benefits the majority of Pleasanton residents and workers - it is not tight to let one small neighborhood try to halt build out when thousands of Pleasanton residents and workers who travel between Pleasanton and Livermore each day can get where they need to faster with the extension in place. We need to be looping at what is right for the overall good of the city and not just the downside to one neighborhood (when D was always in the general plan). 3 Improves air quality and CO2 footprint as is reduces travel miles for the thousands of commuters %Yho travel between Pleasanton and Livermore and vice versa — the average trip can be reduced by - miles for manor Nrrho commute from Hacienda Business Park to mid South Livermore vs. the longer Valley route, ')/-1/2009
