Be assured a copy of your message is being provided to the Mayer and
Members of the City Council so they may have the benefit of your opinion.
Mary Lu Campbell
Executive Assistant
City of Pleasanton
P.C. Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566 -0602
- --- -- original Message---- -
From: John Moore
Sent: Wecinesday, February 18, 2009 11 : M
To: Mayor and City council
Subject: Stoneridge Drive Extention
Dear council,
I have been a resident in the city of Pleasanton for the past 18 years. I am
deeply concerned how a couple of hundred people at the end of Stoneridge Drive
seem to be directing the City Council on the issue of city wide importance, that
being the extention of Stoneridge Drive. The City council needs to do what is
best for the entire city, not just the people at the end of Stoneridge.
Stoneridge Drive needs to go thru now as a part of the .Staples Ranch Development..
I live off Santa Rita in the Mohr Ave area and the impact of only one east
connection to Livermore via Stanley is seen daily at evening rush hour traffic at
Talley Ave and Santa Rita. . It backs up so much on Santa Rita (north. of Talley)
t.hat. I do not use Santa Rita to Mohr, but instead drive thru neighborhoods to
avoid Santa Rita traffic. Do what is best for the community and put. Stoneridge
Drive thru now.
As an aside, I used to live in San Ramon. Costco wanted to locate in .San Ramon.
Homeowners complained about the future traffic, so .San Ramon said no to costco .
costco moved 10001 to the north into the City of Danville. Danville got the tax
base and .San Damon still got the traffic. I hope we don't allow this to happen
with the Staples Ranch. Livermore get the development with the tax base of the
car dealerships and Pleasanton still gets the traffic. Do what is best for the
entire City of Pleasanton, put Stoneridge Drive thru now in connection with the
development of Staples Ranch.
Thank you,
John Moore
1537 Courtney Ave
1
