Page 2 of
F
always intended.
We need circulation help now and Stoneridge Drive provides that. Stoneridge Drive benefits the majority of Pleasanton
residents and workers - it is not right to let one small neighborhood try to halt build out when thousands of Pleasanton
residents and workers who gavel between Pleasanton and Livermore each day can get where they need to faster. We need to
be looking at what is right for the overall good of the city and not just the downside to one neighborhood (when S E was
always in the general plan).
Improves air quality and Cot footprint as is reduces travel miles for the thousands of commuters who travel between
Pleasanton and Livermore and vice versa — the average trip can be reduced by 2-3 miles for many who commute from
Hacienda Business Park to mid/ South Livermore vs. the longer galley route.
Improves safety of rids who are traveling to schools near galley — there are 4 schools within about l mile of galley. By
having another circulation route, this reduces traffic in these very congested areas.
We need to follow through on commitments we have made to our residents and other cities for many years. As
promised, we should be building SIDE in concert with our related plans to build El Charro and Dublin Blvd over the next few
years.
Finally, extending SDE will not be used by the majority for cut through traffic. The majority of people using this road
will be residents workers corning to/from Livermore /Pleasanton and many are taking longer routes via galley today. This is
why this road was required prior to the Hacienda Business Parr ever being established. In a worst case, the maximum
number of cars that can use SHE to bypass the freeway is about 1,000 hour due to freeway on ramp monitoring 1,000 is
minimal compared to traffic levels our 4 lane arteries such as galley and Stoneridge were designed for). This is minimal
amount of cars for this roadway and will result in reduced congestion in many others areas of the city that these cams now use.
This roadway was designed for thousands of cars as others 4 lane roads are.
Thank you
Nancy Allen
2/33/2009
