MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />AND <br />THE PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />FOR LIBRARY BOOKLEGGER PROGRAM <br /> <br />THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ("MOU") is made and entered into <br />on July 1, 2026, between the CITY OF PLEASANTON, a municipal corporation, ("City") and <br />the PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT ("District"). <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, City has operated the collaborative Booklegger outreach program with the <br />District for 30 years and desires to continue class visits where trained volunteers share books and <br />stories and connect students with public library resources and programs; and <br />WHEREAS, City has asked District to host Booklegger volunteer class visits at District <br />facilities through coordination between City staff and District staff; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff will coordinate with District staff for volunteers to come to <br />District facilities, subject to the terms and conditions of this MOU. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions hereinafter <br />contained, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. Term <br />This MOU shall be effective from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028. Thereafter, this <br />MOU may be extended by mutual agreement through a written amendment for an <br />additional two years. <br />2.
