AGREEMENT CONCERNING
EMERGENCY SHELTERS
This Agreement is made 03 A-Y ) i , 1997 between the City of Pleasanton, a
Municipal Corporation, ("City") and the Pleasanton Unified School District, a public
entity, ("District").
RECITALS
A. As part of the City's Emergency Plan, the City is to identify sites throughout the
community which can provide facilities for mass care and shelter in case of a local
disaster.
B. Representatives from the Red Cross and the City have identified a number of
suitable sites, some of which are school sites, which have restrooms, showers and
food preparation areas.
C. District, after meeting its emergency responsibilities, will permit, to the
extent of its ability and upon request by City, the use of facilities identified
in Exhibit A as temporary mass care shelters for victims of disasters.
B. District shall provide, and periodically update, the facilities list and the
name of the person within the District with whom the City is to contact.
C. District shall, prior to releasing a facility for use as a shelter, evaluate the
facility and secure any valuable property not required for shelter operations.
1
