tune 18. 2015
Adam Weinstein, Planning Manager
City of Pleasanton
Planning Commission
City of Pleasanton
Dear Commissioners.
I am writing on behalf of my rive-generation Spotorno Family, who were the original
owners of the Lund Ranch property, in reference to the proposal in the current Lund
Ranch II project requiring the removal of the century-plus old olive trees to provide
for a new access/egress road. Those olive trees were planted by my Grandfather,
Gaston Pierre Spotorno sometime around 1902-1903. He planted those trees at the
same time he built the old farmhouse that still exists on the property.
These trees provide a beautiful entrance to a trail and their removal for the new
road would destroy the surrounding beauty of the project. If at all possible I urge
you to entertain an alternative solution that would preserve those trees which also
represent a part of I'leasanton's agricultural heritage and history.
Thank you very much for your consideration of our request. lib
Sincerely,
Alex V.
