Because of the distance from and orientation
of the airport runways, the project site is located well outside of the 65 dBA Community Noise
Equivalent Level (CNEL) airport noise contours. Therefore, implementation of the proposed project
would not expose persons residing or working in the project site to noise levels from airport activity
that would be in excess of normally acceptable standards for residential land use development. In
addition, there are no private airstrips within 2 miles of the project site. Therefore, no impact would
occur and no change to the 1998 HVSP FEIR conclusions regarding noise is required.
FEIR Mitigation Measures
Construction noise impacts would be reduced to less than significant with implementation of MM C4
of the 1998 HVSP FEIR.
MM C4 Construction activity is limited to the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday
through Saturday.
Conclusion
No new significant impacts to noise and vibration would occur. The conclusions from the 1998 HVSP
FEIR remain unchanged.
