Similar to the DSP EIR, the
Barone’s project would comply with applicable State and local energy efficiency, renewable energy,
green building, water conservation, and solid waste diversion requirements for new construction.
The proposed residences would include all-electric appliances and would include a 3.0 kilowatt solar
panel for each of the proposed single family residences. In addition, two electric vehicle parking
charging stations would be installed for the commercial buildings. The project would also be located
a quarter mile from existing transit and other commercial and residential land uses. The project
would be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certified. Pursuant to PMC
Section 20.26.370, Section 5.106.13 added—All-electric buildings the proposed residences would be
all-electric and would have no natural gas or propane plumbing installed.
As a result, the Barone’s project would be consistent with the CARB’s 2022 Scoping Plan goal to
decarbonize buildings and electrify transportation, as well as consistent with the Pleasanton CAP
threshold. In addition, the project would be consistent with Pleasanton’s Primary CAP 2.0 actions,
such as BE-1 Advance the Decarbonization of Building, BE-3 Expand Use of Renewable Energy, TLU-1
Advance Vehicle decarbonization, and WR-1 Improve Water Supply & Increase Conservation.
Therefore, the project would not result in cumulatively considerable GHG emissions.
