DRAFT
CIPPP-01
along the streets scheduled for resurfacing or slurry seal to bring the roadway back to original
grades. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires all intersection ramp areas to be
improved to current standards when the street is resurfaced. The ADA standards were updated in
2024 and will require new ramps to be installed at most intersections. Curb and gutter replacement
locations are determined through visual inspection by City staff.
To implement the recommended Pavement Management Program (last updated 2/2024), a minimum
of $1 million dollars is needed to make the necessary curb and gutter and required ADA curb ramp
updates.
XX512 Annual Sidewalk and ADA Ramp
This annual project provides for the replacement and rehabilitation of sidewalks and ADA ramps
that have become potential tripping hazards to pedestrians or out of compliance in conformance with
the ADA Transition Plan outside of the annual street resurfacing program. Due to the large volume
of areas in need of repair and where grinding of the concrete is not a viable solution, the sidewalk
must be removed and replaced by a construction contract. Repairs may include sidewalk grinding
and ramping, replacement of sidewalk, integral curb and gutter, ADA access ramps, and the
installation of tree-root or water barriers. Staff will determine the specific locations to be replaced
through a sidewalk condition analysis.
XX532 Bi-Annual Traffic Signal Installation
This program utilizes TIFF funding, and projects will be programmed when TIFF funds are
available. This biannual project will install traffic signals at high-priority locations identified by the
Traffic Signal Priority List and within the General Plan. The funding levels will be based on
available Traffic Impact Fees received.
XX541 Annual Safety Improvements at Various Intersections
This program utilizes TIFF funding, and projects will be programmed when TIFF funds are
available. This annual project will provide intersection improvements at various intersections
identified by the City’s Traffic Impact Fee (TIF) Program or separately identified as improvements
that can significantly enhance the intersection level of service during any single peak hour. The
improvements are designed to enhance intersection operations and/or safety at critical intersections
throughout the city and implement the Pleasanton Travel Action Plan.
Utilities
XX1833 Annual Water Distribution System Improvements
This annual project includes replacing and/or installing water mains (including at bridge and culvert
crossings), valves, services, and other needed appurtenances. Locations will be determined from a
priority list managed by the Public Works Department and in coordination with future street
resurfacing locations.
XX278 Annual Sewer Collection System Improvements
This annual project will replace inadequate and deteriorated sanitary sewer mains and maintenance
holes. Locations will be determined from a priority list managed by the Public Works Department
Page 322 of 893
