teacher in the Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin school districts to encourage their support
and their students’ attendance at the series. This outreach will be repeated for the 2024
season, but we will also reach out to the middle school teachers. We hope in 2024 to
expand and strengthen relationships with our educators to promote the series. We will also
again reach out to activity directors at care homes in the area to encourage their residents
to participate in either the live or virtual performances.
For the 2024 series we hope to improve our social media presence. We will continue to
share on our social media outlets, including Facebook and Instagram, pictures of recent
performances and information of how those interested can buy tickets. What we will be
adding is a social media commercial promoting the event that can be shared and pinned to
our social media sites and website. We will also focus on making more short videos and
reels each month to gain more interest and traction from a wide variety of demographics on
social media.
Explain how this project will be implemented and include a brief timeline for
implementation.
The Museum has been producing the Ed Kinney Lecture Series in some capacity for 25
years. Implementation of the series has been honed with experience and is now a practiced
and routine part of our programming calendar. Since our fiscal year is a calendar fiscal
year, this grant will cover part of this year's series and part of the next series in 2025. The
2024 Series is set with both in-person matinee and evening performances for each month
of the program (March through November) as well as a virtual option.
The 2023 series was reviewed and evaluated by staff and the museum board in October
and plans for the 2024 season, put in place earlier in the year, were finalized at that time.
The 2024 series was marketed to members in December with ticket sales open to them
starting in late January. Tickets will be marketed and sold to the public in February. Ticket
sales are all processed in-house through our web site, over-the-counter sales or through
phone orders. For each show, the Director of Education will manage the performers,
videographer, sound check, ushers, program timing, Q&A and act as house manager when
needed. After the performance, she will work with the videographer to make final edits to
the recording, upload the video to our webinar platform, register the virtual participants, and
help those who need technical assistance during the 24-hour viewing period.
It will take our Director of Education about six months to finalize the 2025 season. Dates
are initially booked with the city in January and finalized in June. In July, we reach out to
performers to negotiate characters, dates, and fees. These negotiations will be concluded
by November with signed contracts and hotel rooms booked. In December, we create the
tickets and marketing materials. The 2025 season will follow a similar timeline as the 2024
season (March-November), with tickets being marketed to members in December, sold to
members in January and marketed and sold to the public in February.
Identify the organization(s) that your agency will partner with on this project. (A
Collaboration Agency Form is required for each collaborating agency.) Enter N/A if not
applicable.
N/A
Please choose a common indicator that your agency will use to measure participation.
