A free Community Concert from the East Bay Jazz Band composed of Pleasanton high
school students and other Tri-Valley residents would demonstrate Pleasanton’s focus on
cultural diversity programming and using partnerships to expand arts learning opportunities
(as stated in the Cultural Plan). It also supports Strategy 4.3 and 5.1 in the Youth Master
Plan to give youth the opportunity to "gather, recreate, and be creative" and "Promote
events, activities, and facilities that accommodate multiple generations, and families and
persons of all physical abilities." Managed by the non-profit LVPAC, the
Bankhead Theater and the Bothwell Arts Center are at the heart of a thriving arts
community in Livermore and across the Tri-valley. We offer access to the arts for audiences
of all ages from the Tri-Valley and beyond, and provide a home for ten resident performing
arts companies, as well as dozens of studio artists and cultural arts instructors. LVA
Presents at the Bankhead Theater offers a diverse range of exceptional music, dance and
theatrical performances on the main stage and, with the Livermore Cultural Arts Council,
co-sponsors free live music concerts on the Shea Homes Stage outside the theater during
the summer months. The Bothwell Arts Center serves as an arts incubator, offering
affordable classroom, rehearsal, performance and studio rental space for cultural arts
organizations and individual visual artists.
