City of Pleasanton—Villages at the Quarry Project
15183 Consistency Checklist Consistency Checklist

173
c) Excessive Noise Levels from Airport Activity
Would the project: c) For a project located within the vicinity of a private airstrip or
an airport land use plan or, where such a plan has not been
adopted, within two miles of a public airport or public use
airport, would the project expose people residing or working in
the project area to excessive noise levels?
Summary of Housing Element Update FEIR
The Livermore Municipal Airport is located approximately 1 mile east of the
city limits. At this distance, the rezoned housing sites are located well outside
of the airport’s 60 dBA Community Noise Equivalent Level (CNEL) noise
contours. Therefore, the Housing Element Update FEIR concluded that
implementation of the Housing Element Update would not expose persons
residing or working at the sites to noise levels from airport activity that would
be in excess of normally acceptable standards. Therefore, no impact would
occur.
Proposed Project Analysis and Conclusion
Airport Noise
The closest airport to the project site is the Livermore Municipal Airport,
approximately 2 miles northeast of the project site. Because of its distance
from the airport runways, and the orientation of the runway relative to the
project site, the project site is located outside of the airport’s 60 dBA CNEL
noise contours. No private airstrips are located within the vicinity of the
project site. Therefore, implementation of the project would not expose
persons residing or working in the project site to excessive noise levels
associated with private airstrip or public airport noise, and therefore no
impact would occur.
Approval of the proposed project would not result in any significant effects
relating to airport noise, and the proposed project would meet the criteria of
CEQA Guidelines Section 15332(c). Therefore, there are no environmental
effects that are peculiar to the proposed project. The proposed project
would not result in a new or more severe adverse impact that was not
previously identified in the Housing Element Update FEIR.
Conclusion
With regard to Noise, the Consistency Checklist demonstrates that:
1. No peculiar impacts related to the proposed project or its site have
been identified.
