City of Pleasanton
Emergency Generator Replacement Proposal
April 14, 2025
location for the permanent generators and automatic transfer switches on each of the
sites with dimensional information and coordinates tied to the site for construction.
The layout of the new facilities will be cognizant of existing traffic circulation and we
will take steps to provide for traffic to the equipment for maintenance activities. The
generator concrete pads will be located with the new facilities tied into the existing
storm water drainage system. Design will also include trenching for installation of
the conduit for power and signal to the generator locations as required.
Deliverable: 65%, 95%, and 100% Design Submittals (PDF)
Subtask 4.2 - Structural Design $16,501
Wood Rodgers will provide structural design calculations and drawings for Generator
Mattress slab foundations and Electrical Cabinet foundation slabs located at four (4)
Water Station facilities and two (2) Sewer Station Facilities. Seismic accelerations will be
determined for each project site based on site coordinates. Generator and electrical
equipment anchorage to the foundation slabs will be treated as Deferred Submittals and
designed by others.
The City will provide historical or current geotechnical reports to Wood Rodgers for the
determination of geotechnical design parameters of the foundation slabs. If geotechnical
report(s) are not available, Wood Rodgers will use geotechnical design parameters will
be based on the Presumptive Load Bearing Values 2022 California Building Code Table
1806.2 and Lateral Soil Load Table 1610.1.
Deliverable: 65%, 95%, and 100% Design Submittals (PDF)
Subtask 4.3 – Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Design
Electrical design will be in close collaboration with the project team and the City of
Pleasanton. The design will include interface with existing SCADA PLC for
complete remote monitoring of the gensets and auxiliary systems. It is assumed that
as-builts of the existing SCADA PLC at each site are available for our use in the
design. Since the existing PLC I/O list will be specifically updated for each site, no
P&ID drawings are required. Updated PLC programming logic if needed will be
specified to be done by Tesco hired directly under the Contractor’s contract as his
sub. The new generators will be all Tier 4 diesel unit with subbase fuel tank.
Enclosure for genset will be noise attenuated and quieter than the existing portable
gensets. Contractor shall submit applications and obtain air permits on the City’s
behalf.
The work can be broken down into smaller subtasks as follows:
Subtask 4.3a – Brief Review of TJC Predesign Report $5,070
EXHIBIT A
Docusign Envelope ID: 30A3961D-FFFB-4F58-8CEA-FDACAFB45868
