TJKM regularly assists jurisdictions with successful HSIP applications.
• Identify low-cost countermeasures that can be implemented at a large number of locations where risk factors are present throughout the
City or County transportation system to maximize the safety investment return.
• Identify funding sources and assist with Grant Applications
The Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan process begins with a thorough assessment of traffic safety data, including crash history,
roadway conditions, and community input. TJKM will work closely with local stakeholders to identify high-crash locations and prioritize areas in
need of immediate intervention. The plan then outlines targeted strategies and interventions, such as road redesigns, traffic calming measures,
and education programs, tailored to address the unique safety concerns in each identified area. Additionally, the process includes the
development of a phased implementation timeline, ensuring that improvements are made in a structured, efficient manner. Regular site visits
and data verification will support the identification of contributing factors and ensure that recommended interventions are realistic and impactful. Ultimately, the SS4A Safety Action Plan aims to create a safer, more resilient transportation network by addressing key safety issues
and fostering long-term, sustainable changes in local communities.
