The 2025 budget included a full-time Executive Director and full-time Events Director.
Historically, the PDA has operated with 3 full-time staff members. We eliminated the
Operations Director/Office Manager position before the end of 2024 and did not have the
budget to replace this position back to a full-time staff member in 2025. Funds were instead
shifted towards other necessary expenses to keep the organization running.
In October 2020, City Council approved a deferral of the PDA rent through December 2021. The
PDA continues to pay rent to the City, plus the additional deferral amount of $383.06 each
month. The rent is increased each year based on the CPI-adjusted rate.
The PDA is extremely event-dependent for ongoing operational funding, and this will be
amplified in 2026. Event income will become more critical for the organization, and we will
need to be very cognitive of which events are income-producing for the PDA. Despite a
decrease in staffing, we plan to bring a minimum of six new family-friendly and free community
events to the heart of Pleasanton in 2026 to continue shining a light on our charming downtown
and vitality to small businesses. We will not have to significantly limit the number of Concerts in
the Park in 2026 as we did in 2025 due to the construction scheduled for Lions Wayside Park.
This will have a positive impact on the budget as well since we will have greater sponsorship
opportunities for the concerts in June - August 2026.
Listed below are the events we plan to bring in 2026:
March 14 - St. Patrick’s Day Brew Crawl
April 4 - Bunny Hop
May 16 - Wine Stroll
June 5-7 - Weekends on Main: Hot Rod Row + Thrift Market (NEW!)
June 5 - August 28 - Concerts in the Park (Lions Wayside Park)
June 9 / 23- Movies in the Park (NEW!)
July 14 / 28 - Movies in the Park (NEW!)
September 12 - Forkful Culinary Stroll
September 19 - Country FEST (NEW!)
October 2-4 - Weekends on Main: Art Walk (NEW!), Pleasanton Palooza, BMX Bike Fest
October 1-18 - Pumpkins on Main
November 28 - Small Business Saturday
December 4 - Magical Holiday Lane
December 1-15 - Downtown Holiday Decorating Window Contest (NEW!)
December 12 - Spirit & Sweater Stroll
The PDA is committed to moving forward with the best interests of Downtown Pleasanton and the
incredible businesses within the District at the forefront of our decision making.
