SHC Tri-Valley East Wing Hospital Addition
Design Review Application – Project Narrative
TAYLOR DESIGN – 6370.101

10

TEMPORARY AMBULANCE ACCESS AND PARKING
A portion of the existing paved area at the current ambulance parking area will be reconfigured to provide
temporary ambulance parking for ambulances during construction. Access to this area will utilize the existing
access road from Andrews Drive. A temporary ambulance canopy will be built near the existing hospital and
north end of the existing Emergency Department.
RING ROAD AND STAFF / EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT PARKING
The existing ring road will be reconfigured to go around the new building addition. The final configuration will
allow for a continuous 26’ wide fire department access around the site. A new passenger drop-off area will be
provided at the entrance to the expanded Emergency Department. A canopy in this area will provide sheltered
access to the entrance from the drop-off area. The existing staff and emergency department parking lot adjacent
to the loop road will be reconfigured to accommodate parking spaces displaced by the hospital addition and
road reconfiguration. Ambulance parking will be located at the north end of the hospital addition with five
covered ambulance parking spaces. Five additional parking spaces will be provided for ambulances and other
emergency vehicles in this area.
