8. Program Sustainability
Describe the plan for reducing reliance on future grant funding. Include a summary and timeframe to continue efforts when
grant funds are either not available or significantly reduced. PLEASE DO NOT COPY AND PASTE TABLES IN FIELD -
TYPE INFORMATION IN FIELD.
The Pleasanton Police Department has developed a sustainable plan to maintain DUI enforcement efforts if grant
funding is reduced or unavailable.
The primary costs in this project are one-time equipment purchases, including LifeLock PAS devices and light towers.
These durable assets will remain in service for multiple years, significantly reducing future funding needs. Ongoing
calibration, maintenance, and minor replacement costs will be absorbed into the department's general operating budget
for FY27/28.
If the future grant funding is limited, DUI enforcement will continue by integrating checkpoint-style operations and
saturation efforts into regular patrol staffing and the Traffic Unit. While operations may be scaled based on available
personnel, high-visibility enforcement will remain a priority. Equipment purchased under this grant will continue to
support enforcement without additional major capital investments.
After-Action Reports and enforcement data will be used to demonstrate effectiveness and support future internal budget
requests if necessary.
Through long-term equipment investment, integration into routine operations, and gradual transition of maintenance
costs to the general fund, the department is committed to sustaining impaired driving enforcement efforts beyond the life
of this grant.
Pleasanton Police Department
Pleasanton Police Department
Attachment 1
