ARROYO LAGO RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
ADDENDUM

FCS 127
Https://adecinnovations.sharepoint.com/sites/PublicationsSite/Shared Documents/Publications/Client (PN-JN)/2148/21480036/Addendum/21480036 Arroyo Lago Residential Project Addendum.docx
to address the release. Compliance with applicable mandatory laws and regulations would ensure
that all potential construction-related impacts are less than significant. The Prior FEIR determined that
operation may require the use and/or storage of common household hazardous materials, but
compliance with applicable laws and regulations would ensure that operational impacts would be less
than significant. Therefore, the Prior FEIR concluded that impacts would be less than significant.
(Draft EIR, pp. 3.8-19, 6-16).
Proposed Project Analysis and Conclusion
The project site location and boundaries of the proposed project would be consistent with the project
site and off-site areas evaluated in the Prior FEIR; therefore, the hazardous materials conditions of
the project site and related analysis identified in the Prior FEIR would apply to the proposed project.
As determined in the Prior FEIR, no RECs have been identified for the project site. Consistent with
the findings in the Prior FEIR, the proposed project would comply with all applicable federal, State,
and local laws and regulations, including the General Plan, Titles 8 and 17 of the California Code of
Regulations, and Cal/OSHA requirements. This would include, but not be limited to, requiring
compliance with Pleasanton General Plan Public Safety Element Goal 5, which looks to “minimize the
risks to lives and property due to potential exposure to hazardous materials.” If accidental release of
hazardous materials did occur, the appropriate regulatory agencies would be notified to address the
release. Accordingly, the proposed project’s impact in this regard would be less than significant,
consistent with the impact conclusions of the Prior FEIR. Therefore, the proposed project would not
introduce new significant impacts or create substantially more severe significant impacts than those
previously identified in the Prior FEIR. No additional analysis is required.
c) Exposure of Schools to Hazardous Materials or Emissions
Would the project: Emit hazardous emissions or handle hazardous or acutely
hazardous materials, substances, or waste within one-quarter mile
of an existing or proposed school?
Prior FEIR Conclusions
The Prior FEIR found that the Montessori School of Pleasanton is located approximately 0.25 mile
from the project site. However, as detailed above, the County Project would adhere to applicable
federal, State, and local laws and regulations while utilizing typical commercial hazardous materials
for construction. Given the foregoing, the County Project would not handle or emit hazardous
materials that could result in a significant impact on the school within proximity to the project site.
Therefore, the Prior FEIR concluded that impacts would be less than significant. (Draft EIR, pp. 3.8-
21, 6-16).
Proposed Project Analysis and Conclusion
Similar to the conclusions of the Prior FEIR, while there is a school located within 0.25 mile of the
project site, the proposed project would not handle or emit hazardous materials that could result in a
significant impact to any schools because the proposed project, which would be reduced in scope to
a certain degree and thus the amount of hazardous materials involved in construction and operation
