VINassist also decodes VINs to reveal vehi-
cle information such as model, type, year, manufacturer, engine size, and restraint system type.
In addition, law enforcement, criminal justice, and Regulatory Agency personnel have access to a wide
range of vehicle-related data records (as displayed in Exhibit 2) through ISO ClaimSearch and Nlets
(National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System).
2 . Robotic Process Automation
• Neither ISO ClaimSearch Participating Organizations nor NICB Participating Organizations
may use Robotic Process Automation (“RPA”), Artificial Intelligence (“AI”), or any other similar
automation tools, software, technology, or processes (hereinafter collectively referred to as
“Automation Processes”) to access, interface with, or use ISO ClaimSearch, or ISO ClaimSearch
Information, without ISO’s express prior written consent. ISO reserves the right to revoke the
authorization to use any Automation Processes. ISO ClaimSearch Participating Organizations
and NICB Participating Organizations shall be fully responsible for acts, services, and functions
performed by such Automation Tools to the same extent as if such acts, services, and func-
tions were performed by Authorized Users.
Upon consent, ISO ClaimSearch Participating Organizations and NICB Participating Organizations
shall (1) employ industry best practice encryption techniques for information stored on, accessed on,
or transmitted to or from the Automation Tool; (2) provide for and implement, at a minimum, industry-
standard security procedures, which will be subject to ISO’s audit and review in accordance with the
audit procedures as contained in Part 8; (3) ensure that each and every Automation Tool is assigned a
unique ID to be used and known only by that Automation tool.
3 . Prohibited Access
Authorized Users may not use the database for purposes of insurance underwriting (including
ratemaking, risk classification, actuarial calculations, identification of prospective licensees, or
reclassification of licensees), policy cancellation or renewal, establishing or stabilizing claim
payment levels, granting of credit, pre- or post-employment screening, or other similar purpose.
4 . Credentialing of Participating Organizations
To further strengthen its Privacy and Security Policies, ISO requires Participating Organizations to com-
ply with credentialing procedures. The NICB maintains the responsibility to credential NICB Participating
Organizations. Organizations that have not successfully completed the credentialing process will not be
allowed access to ISO ClaimSearch. If it is discovered that an outside party has provided fraudulent
documentation or information, the fraudulent act may be reported to law enforcement.
Recertification of ISO ClaimSearch Participating Organizations’ credentials may be performed
periodically (for example, at contract renewal) or at such intervals as ISO ClaimSearch may direct.
Recertification is a process in which the customer is asked to represent that the credentials on file are
current and valid. Recertification may be required at the discretion of ISO ClaimSearch. Recertification
may be accomplished by any suitable means of communication.
Docusign Envelope ID: 329281D2-142C-8B83-837A-7CD218C257C4
