Performance Pest Management | City of Pleasanton Pest Control Services Proposal |Page 10
The $48,000 Purchase Order Is an Authorization Ceiling - Not a Guaranteed
Expenditure
Performance Pest Management does not intend for the $48,000 annual purchase order to be interpreted
as a flat annual fee or an indication that the entire authorized amount will necessarily be utilized.
Rather, the annual purchase order establishes sufficient funding capacity to allow Performance Pest
Management to address actual pest-management needs throughout the City's facilities.
The extent of rodent activity, number of bait stations and traps required, replacement equipment,
treatment needs, pest pressure, follow-up requirements, and other conditions cannot be accurately
known before the facilities are evaluated and ongoing service begins.
Predetermining those quantities could result in either insufficient resources being available where pest
activity is significant or resources being assigned where they ultimately are not necessary.
Performance Pest Management believes a more responsible approach is to evaluate actual conditions
and utilize the level of pest-management resources appropriate to those conditions.
Our intention is to manage, control, and reduce pest activity while using City resources responsibly and
avoiding unnecessary treatment or material usage.
This structure provides the City with sufficient authorization to respond effectively when significant
pest conditions occur without establishing an expectation that the entire purchase order will be
expended.
Docusign Envelope ID: 12D38450-126F-85C2-806D-B77CACC97D2B
