Future Conditions under the Existing + Approved Scenario
and under the General Plan Scenario F25
12. Availability of Background Information F40

Supplementing these materials, the level of service calculation sheets and Synchro model
files have been provided to the City of Pleasanton and can be reviewed at the Planning
Department office on request. A table of contents for this background information is
provided at the end of this appendix.

1. City of Pleasanton Travel Demand and Synchro Models

Introduction

The City of Pleasanton has developed a comprehensive traffic forecasting model including a
post-processing procedure which utilizes the simulation software program called Synchro to
evaluate peak hour intersection levels of service. The City's model was used for this study.
Given the unique nature ofthe project, the model required refinements to insure reasonable
traffic patterns and resultant traffic turn movement projections at each of the analysis
intersections.

Model Assumptions

The model includes all of the existing development within the City and the region. In
addition to the existing land development, the City has approved additional development
that has not yet been built or occupied. Approved development will result in an increase of

Fl
