personally feel that I don't agree with hardly anything that the new neighborhood has to offer

Page I of2

Marion Pavan

From: Malt and Cheryl [mlawer1@comcast.net]
Sent: Monday, Match 06, 2006 3:45 PM
To: Marion Pavan
Subject: selway leman speech second version 2-23-06

!arion,
:ere are some more details.
Ie you people going to contact us individually to address concerns?

:ere are some more concerns or some same concerns that I have, in greater detail. These are my opinions, right or
Tong in any way, factual or not, they are opinion and a God given right to expressing a thought in this country and I
In't want to be held accountable for any mis-representation or otherwise. They are not intended to slander, harrn or
nerwise anything else. Having said that......

Jersonally feel that I no longer agree with hardly anything that the new neighborhood plans has to offer. I think it is
>t of the feel of the existing neighborhood. It further burdens the current neighborhood with more people, cars and
her stuff, and adds a mundane feeling to the neighborhood's frontage street. I feel that this thing is being slammed
ru approvals without neighborhood support and a full understand by the neighbors of the impacts of the project I feel
at the city and the developers are on their own schedule to do just what they want to do and are only addressing the
.ncerns that they want to address. The Whole thing is really starting to stink and I would like to see this process
)wed way down to a snails pace to allow us, the public, to fully understand just what it is that is taking place. What is
e hurry here? The Bernal property has been under scrutiny and spirited conversation for a long, long time now.

us property across the street from my home seems ripe for a new set of houses but no one in control seems to be
tening to the people who are impacted by the project: who is US! The Neighbors. There are problems and I have
me suggestions for the resolution of them. Many of these issues need brought to light by the implernentation of a
JLL ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT REPORT with and without the new school going in, which according to the latest
jcle in the Pleasanton Weekly, show enrolment going down, so I was told that the process would have to be started
ain regarding that land use development... .more development for Ponderosa in a few years. Seems like they own the
ighborhood.

,as told by the City of Pleasant on that Ponderosa can spend all the time and money in the world up front to try and
nvince the public of their view of how they want to go about developing a property. In fact, I was told that the city
Iuires a developer to present ahead of time. I was also told that We don't have to agree to these initial submittals. To
'recollection, only the surface has been scratched to what the issues are and land uses of this project at hand today.
we got a sales pitch. SO WHAT. I quite frankly don't like the look, feel and many other aspects of the project any
1ger, and this feeling took a long time to corne to a head.

lere was a meeting at my house in November of2005 which, (seemingly to the surprise to the ponderosa personnel
o called the rneeting), got real big real fast and I recall everyone, 25 or so people, agreeing, that the look and feel of
ponderosa proposal was unacceptable: we took a vote on it by the show of a raise of hands. Since then, it appears
t Ponderosajust plugged away at the ole' plans and rnade some adjustments, but my biggest issues weren't
tressed.

NO WAY, and I think that I speak for my direct neighbors since the last tirne I polled them, which was very
ently, do we want a street coming out and adjoining onto Equestrian Ave. I have told the city and Ponderosa this. At
poll, I feel that the neighbors at the other end of street "A" would like that street connection (which by the way
sn't meet the city's new current standards of adjoining up to another close street), moved out to run through the

12006
