Page 1 cif 1
Maria Hoey
Subject: FW: Opposition to Home Depot
....,.. _ ,~.~ _.~,....,,~...~„~..~.~ R~._~..,,,~
From: Chris carmine
Sent: Monday, February 19, 2007 7:12 PM
To: Mary Lu Campbell
Subject: Home depot issue
Dear Mr Campbell and City Council members:
I am sorry I will not be able to attend the meeting on Tuesday. I have my three year old grandson that night I trust
me, you do not want him at the meeting. That being said, please understand that as a life time resident of
Pleasanton, and a home owner who's house backs to Valley Ave, I have some concerns about the Home Depot
project. We know, as does the Council that traffic on Valley Ave is an issue. While I support the Stoneridge
extention, that is not involved here. You all know that valley/ santa rita is a huge problem, why make it worse?
You were elected to do what is best for the city. The tax money from this project will not offset the issues of traffic
it will create. Let us wait for the survey including the Stoneridge extension to decide how to proceed. After all, the
property in question will continue to go up in value.
This decision by you and the Council will have an impact that will continue for years. Because of your leadership
in the past, we as a City are in good finincial shape. I thank you and the Council for that, please follow you own
recommendations and place this project on hold until the traffic issues can be addessed. Doing what is best for
the majority is never easy. As a retired police officer, I understand the issues you face. Your task as I see it is to
do what you know will be best for all of Pleasanton. A task for which I feel you and the Council are best suited to
decide. We elected you to take care of our City, and I support your efforts.
Please accept my thanks for serving on the Council and doing what you feel is best for our City.
Chris Carmine
~i10/'?Of)7
