Item 6a ADnroval of a contract amendment with 9olf course consultants to provide additional en;lineerin;I and construction manaqement services for the Callippe Preserve Golf Course Open Space, Project No. 968036. (SR 04:209) Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works, presented the staff report. Mr. Bmzosky asked staff how confident it was that this would be the end of the project change orders. Mr. Wilson said that construction has not been completed. He noted that next year there would be a final settling of the change orders with Ferma Construction Company. He believed this process would be long and lengthy, but it will determine the final cost for the contract. In response to an inquiry by Ms. Ayala, Mr. Wilson said that the City has been fortunate to have Heinbuch Golf, LLC manage the golf course construction because of the volume of the project. He noted that the replacement of trees and the sidewalks are construction defects, which were caused by incorrect methods of installation for which and the contractor is responsible. Heinbuch Golf LLC is finding the defects and having them corrected as well as managing the paperwork which comes in on a continual basis from the contractor who wants to file claims. In response to an inquiry by Mr. Brozosky, Mr. Wilson said the dedication for the opening of the golf course clubhouse is scheduled for October 30, 2004. It was moved by Mayor Pico, seconded by Ms. Hosterman, to approve an amendment to the contract with Crsegan + D'Angelo to increase the fee, on a time and materials basis, for design services, construction support services, and construction staking services by an amount not-to-exceed $427,000, for a total contract amount of $1,066,000; to approve an amendment to the contract with Heinbuch Golf, LLC to increase the fee, on a time and materials basis, for construction management and specialty inspection services, by an amount not-to- excc. cd $252,701, for a total contract amount of $2,087,747; to authorize the City Manager to execute the contract amendments; and to increase revenue projections for the golf course budget by $331,536, due to increased pro-rata Pleasanton City Council 28 09/07/04 Minutes
