In the event of multiplex or other communication failure from the
master to a particular intersection controller unit, the controller unit
shall revert to free operation.
Intersection Flash Program
It shall be possible for the operator to place any intersection or
group of intersections in flash or to return the intersection or group
of intersections from flash to system control, from either immediate
keyboard command; or from a subsystem pattern number.
Standby Operation
It shall be possible for the operator to place the local
intersection or group of intersections in the standby mode, or to take
the intersection or group of intersections out of the standby mode from
immediate keyboard command; or from subsystem pattern number. In
standby operation, intersection operation shall be independent upon
local controller capability.
Standby/Free
In standby or free operation, the intersection shall operate fixed
time, semi or fully actuated with volume-density on all phases as
programmed, dependent upon local controller capability. The
intersection shall operate in standby under the following circumstances:
(a) If the intersection is not assigned to a coordinated subsystem, it
shall operate in standby. Intersections may be assigned to a
subsystem on a time of day/day of the week basis.
(b) If the intersection is Fart of a coordinated subsystem and the
subsystem cycle length is zero, all intersections in that subsystem
shall operate free.
(c) If the intersection is part of a coordinated subsystem and the
computed traffic levels exceed the upper limit or fall below the
lower limit of programmed calculating levels, all intersections in
that subsystem shall operate free.
Remote Timing of New Intersection Controllers
(a) It shall be possible for the operator to set, list, or change the
following intersection parameters stored in the rgmotely alterable
Random Access Memory of a controller. _
Green Max
Yellow Change*
Red Clearance*
Time Before Reduction
Time to Reduce to Min Ext.
Preset Ext.
Min.
