Fehr & Peers has performed various services for agencies throughout the Bay Area that provide experience that
we will apply to this project. Listed in the pages to follow are On-Call projects we have performed and are
currently providing, as well as other projects we have conducted in the City of Pleasanton.
RECENT WORK /N THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
On-Call Transportation Services for the City of Pleasanton
Fehr & Peers is performing on-call transportation engineering services for the City of Pleasanton and has
completed the following projects:
• Peer review of the Home Depot Shopping Center TIA
• Peer review of the Lund Ranch II TIA
• Trip generation study for the Gateway/Bernal PUD
• Peer review of the Trinity Lutheran Church TIA
• Site access and circulation for Dublin Canyon Church
• Impact assessment for Fresh and Easy Grocery Store
City of Pleasanton Bicyle and Pedestrian Master Plan
Fehr & Peers is currently preparing the City's first Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. The process is being
conducted in cooperation with the City's newly formulated Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and with
significant public input gathered through community workshops.
SR 84 PR/ED
Fehr & Peers provided professional transportation services for the PANED Route 84 Expressway Widening
project. The transportation services included project management, evaluation of the CCTA decennial traffic
forecast model, integration of the traffic forecast model and the traffic operations model using VISUM and VISSIM
software, and assisting in the preparation of the environmental document.
The evaluation of the CCTA Decennial model included several steps. Gateway volumes generated by the model
within the study area, specifically I-580 east of Greenville, I-580 west of Foothill, I-680 north of I-580 and I-680
south of SR 84, as well as several adjacent roadways were compared to existing traffic data to determine the
level of calibration of the model. The model's land use inputs in the study area, as well as locations throughout
the Tri-Valley, were compared to the aerial photography to verify that the model's assumed land use intensities
were consistent with that shown on the photography. The results of our efforts resulted in Caltrans approving the
forecasting approach methodology.
Fehr & Peers developed a VISUM model for existing AM and PM peak hour conditions for the Tri-Valley. The
model was constructed using aerial photography, existing traffic data, and information from the CCTA Decennial
model. This model includes 85 key intersections in Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore, 17 interchanges along 1-
680 and I-580, about 30 miles of freeway and 90 miles of arterial roadway. The VISUM model was calibrated
within the study area and compared to Caltrans published requirements. From the VISUM model, a VISSIM
model of the study corridor will be created and calibrated using Caltrans published requirements for operations
models, travel time surveys of routes of significance including SR 84, I-580, and I-680 and locations of queue
spiliback. VISUM and VISSIM models were also created for opening year (2010) and the 20-year (2030)
conditions for no build and with project conditions. A project alternative was also analyzed to evaluate the
implications of incorporating six lanes along the Project corridor north of Stanley Boulevard. The final
environmental document is now being prepared.
